• Provided expert testimony for a group of potentially responsible parties in establishing liability of a third-party successor corporation. Analyzed internal documents and public disclosures to develop supporting evidence of parent corporation’s assumption of dissolved subsidiary’s environmental liabilities. Assisted counsel in analyzing and reviewing costs associated with proposed remediation of the site.
• Assisted counsel for a major landfill operator in assessing propriety of environmental accounting and related public disclosures. Developed internal corroborative support and provided authoritative foundation for company’s accounting practices.
• Analyzed landfill costs and accounting issues on behalf of counsel for a national accounting firm defending a civil action and related SEC investigation. Assessed issues and assisted counsel in framing defenses.
• Prepared punitive damages analysis for plaintiff’s counsel in a civil suit stemming from leaking underground fuel tanks.
• Assessed causation and damages issues in connection with a lawsuit by a major UK company against a US venture partner regarding hazardous waste remediation technology.
• Prepared damages analysis for plaintiff's counsel in a patent infringement suit involving fuel-containment-systems technology developed for use with underground storage tanks.
